Based in Singapore, the homegrown award-winning design and build firm has delivered some 1,000 projects across 11 countries to date.
From its humble beginnings in 1996, ID21 has grown in strength and capabilities over the past 25 years. Today, it’s a multidisciplinary commercial design and build firm with a 90-strong team adept in the areas of interior design, project and construction management, mechanical and electrical, carpentry and procurement.
Ms Janet Ong, Founder and Managing Director of ID21, said, “ID21’s success is anchored on the diverse talents of our team, and the unwavering trust from our clients and partners. My team and I are united and driven by a common purpose to make a positive impact on communities through thoughtful yet functional design.
“I am proud of every project that we have designed and delivered since Day One, and I am grateful for each like-minded professional that we have collaborated with for the past 25 years. As a company, there are many more exciting opportunities ahead of us, and we look forward to continue this journey of design excellence for many more years to come.”
From strength to strength
Indeed, ID21 has much to celebrate. Over the years, the homegrown firm has built an impressive track record spanning industries and sectors, from aviation and healthcare to banking, insurance, retail, media and entertainment.
Beyond offices, it has transformed spaces such as retail showrooms, canteens, laboratories, coworking spaces, and office building lobbies in Singapore and overseas. Many of these projects have gone on to win recognition on the local and international stage.
In the past two years, the company has pressed on and successfully completed numerous projects in spite of the challenges posed by the pandemic, and garnered various awards along the way.

A commemorative symbol

To commemorate this significant milestone, ID21 also designed an anniversary logo for all its communication channels, such as its website and social media pages.
The logo features fluid lines that project movement and dynamism, a representation of the company’s continuous endeavour to create workspaces that foster innovation, productivity and well-being.
Giving at work
In line with the company’s goal to positively impact lives, the company initiated and gave back to the local community in a few ways this year:
Donation of office furniture to Care Corner Singapore
ID21 donated furniture recovered from the company’s office reinstatement projects to Care Corner Singapore, a local non-profit organisation that promotes the well-being of individuals and families in the community through social and healthcare services. Its vendor also rendered support by assisting with the logistical arrangements and delivery of the furniture to seven Care Corner centres in Toa Payoh, Ang Mo Kio and Woodlands.
Pro-bono design services for Red Pencil (Singapore)
ID21 also supported The Red Pencil (Singapore), a non-profit organisation that works with schools, foster homes, family service centres and health-related associations to introduce creative arts therapy to less privileged children and families in Singapore.
An ID21 team comprising designers, project managers, quantity surveyors and mechanical and electrical engineers provided pro-bono design and consultancy services for The Red Pencil’s new premises in Redhill. ID21 also rallied the support of its vendors for sponsorships and discounted rates for the build materials.
Ms Ong added, “We see it as a privilege and take pride in being able to give back to the community by contributing our expertise, time and effort. It is our hope that we can continue to improve the well-being of others and make a meaningful impact in everything that we undertake as a team.”
