ID21 Hits The Mark at the Singapore Good Design Awards 2021
25 Oct 2021
We are thrilled to share our double win at the Singapore Good Design Awards 2021, with both our entries attaining the coveted SG Mark under the Interior Design category! This is our second design award accolade for The Galen, following our win at the Asia Pacific Property Awards 2021-2022.
The Galen is located within the lush green Science Park, an area designed to house chemical, life sciences and IT companies. By designing with people at the centre stage, we could help reposition the building and capitalize on the locations’ greatest asset: the views of the greenery. Rather than allowing the building to remain insular and self-contained, the building lobby with its renewed front porch revitalises the Singapore Science Park streetscape, enhancing a unique offering to an evolving workforce. Beyond the traditional entryway or waiting area, we have reimagined The Galen lobby as a place for people to socialize, make plans and prepare for the workday.
Dedicated to continually evolving their expertise in the field of aviation, Collins Aerospace wanted to reflect that boldness in their office space – which ID21 managed to convey through the creation of a vibrant work environment. Built around the idea of space optimization to enhance employee well-being, we designed user routes that connect different spaces which cater to different needs – from silent work to collaboration and meeting. Collins Aerospace’s new office embodies dynamism and flexibility, apt for an energetic brand with motion at its very core.
About the Award
Singapore Good Design (SG Mark) was launched in 2013 by the Design Business Chamber Singapore (DBCS) in partnership with the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP) that founded the prestigious Good Design Award (G Mark). SG Mark was established to set the benchmark for exceptional design quality that impacts businesses and communities in Singapore and beyond. Good design has become a source of growth and productivity in the economy as organisations recognise the value of investing in excellent design principles, processes and offerings.
We would like to say a huge thank you to our ID21 team who have seen these projects through from conceptualisation to execution, as well as to express our gratitude to our partners CapitaLand and Collins Aerospace, without which these collaborations would not have been possible.
